HOW WE MAKE DRAPERY
Measure Curtain and Lining Panels
-
Use a tape measure to determine the length from the floor to the desired height of the curtain rod.
-
Subtract 1 inch to account for rings, and add 16 inches for the header and hem allowance. Transfer this measurement to your fabric.
-
Use a quilting ruler or square and yardstick to draw a straight line across the fabric panel. Mark the line with a pencil, then cut across the marked line.
-
Repeat this process with the second curtain panel, making sure to match up the design so it's level across both panels.
-
Repeat this entire process with the lining fabric, but subtract 10 inches from the total fabric length.
By following these steps, you'll be able to create beautiful, perfectly-sized curtains for your home.
